Finance Administrator

Complion recently won “Best Growth” and “Startup of the Year” and we’re looking for our first Finance Administrator to join our cross-functional team. You will report to the Founder & CEO, joining a group of highly motivated individuals that are driving innovation in the Clinical Research space through technology automation. Our cloud-based software stores critical clinical trial documentation for hospitals and medical centers to ensure the delivery of new treatments to patients.

You will be responsible for the real time accountability of all numbers that allow our team to monitor business metrics and manage risk. The finance function is critical to the growth and scaling of our leading edge software at hospitals and medical centers. Candidates must possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to manage competing tasks efficiently, critical judgement, and the work ethic to be productive in an open, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

As the Finance Administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • The company’s accounting operations, budgeting, SAAS metrics and financial reporting to the rest of the leadership team
  • Partnering with each key stakeholders in the company to assist with their P&Ls and manage the company’s operating financial plan
  • Managing and reporting on financial models
  • Advising team leaders on budgeting and hiring
  • Providing updates and financial plans for the CEO to present at board meetings and as needed
  • Managing and automating accounts receivables
  • Articulating and improving our pricing strategy based on industry category best practices
  • Managing all accounting and tax matters
  • Optimizing all internal administrative software applications and reporting
  • Handling some administrative responsibilities that can not be automated
  • Setting up the full integration capabilities of administrative software applications
  • Using the full real-time reporting capabilities of internal business operations software applications
  • Reducing waste across internal work processes and procedures
  • Always asking, “What are we solving for?” to make sure limit works cycles are optimized
  • Managing relationships with all vendors

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, related experience in accounting, finance, related field or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in an early stage tech venture and/or work environments with high ambiguity is desired
  • Experience in accounting in the software or professional services industry is preferred
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Able to adapt quickly to change
  • Experience in a role where accounting analysis and reporting was required
  • Experience in accounting, benefits and payroll compliance in an early stage tech venture is desired

Software Product Analyst

We are currently looking for a Software Product Analyst to work with internal visionaries and the top medical centers to help revolutionize clinical trial operations with a first-to-market software. The successful candidate will be fascinated with the problem we’re solving and our solution, enjoying the time spent to truly understand problems and come to innovative solutions through detailed management with key internal and client stakeholders.

The Software Product Analyst will perform deep dives with clinical trial experts at our leading clients, including University Hospitals and Duke Cancer Institute, and translate feedback into technical requirements and inputs. The Software Product Analyst will develop additional prioritized requirements from Customer Success, Sales and internal subject matter expertise. The Software Product Analyst will also define reporting on current system utilization to provide additional insight. The Software Product Analyst will work directly with the CEO, CTO and Director of Customer Success to finalize the roadmap and develop acceptance test criteria. The Software Product Analyst will then work directly with Engineering and Customer Success staff to ensure the software meets the acceptance criteria and additional product support deliverables have been met prior to agile releases.

Complion is a rapidly growing downtown Cleveland-based early stage Software Company. Our cloud-based, first-to-market software stores critical clinical trial documentation for many leading hospitals and medical centers to ensure the delivery of innovative treatments to patients. Our product was developed in close collaboration with clients utilizing lean processes in a small skunkworks team with decades of experience in clinical research and document management including engagement in 300+ trials and 25+ products launched at a top 4 document management company. The software is already up and running and the customer base is growing quickly with a repository of data in the terabytes. We are now looking for an experienced Software Product Analyst to help us deliver innovative solutions in our current and future products on the scale of millions of documents a day.

As a Software Product Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Conduct and document product feedback and requirements sessions with clients, sales leads and at conferences.
  • Gather, refine and document product requirements for current and future products.
  • Writing use cases that address the user problem being solved.
  • Conduct market research in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Define and run reports on system utilization for input into product decisions.
  • Executing on a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  • Engage in select sales activities to facilitate the development of product requirements and ensure delivery of new products with the CEO.
  • Write Product Requirements Documentation for all product releases.
  • Provide value points and features to marketing for the development of product marketing documentation.
  • Define, document, and communicate product roadmaps and release schedules.
  • Ensure timely product release and manage related processes to ensure that no detail is overlooked.
  • Provide documentation, feedback and additional information to the Engineering team.
  • Perform acceptance testing prior to agile releases.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to define, document, and communicate product packaging, release plans, and collateral materials.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or related experience
  • A minimum of 1-3 years experience in software product management experience.
  • Experience in an early stage tech venture and/or work environments with high ambiguity is desirable.
  • Experience in software requirements and technical writing is required.
  • Experience in healthcare, content management and/or clinical research is preferred.
  • Experience in formal software validation processes (e.g. Part 11, GAMP, etc) is preferred.
  • Team player with strong inter-personal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in creating product requirements and executing new feature development in an agile process.
  • Must have computer experience with working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with demonstrated proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.  Experience with Trello, GitHub, YouTrack and HubBoard are preferred.

You will become an expert in the application of novel, cutting edge clinical research software for hospitals and clinics in order to achieve success in a highly consultative sales process. You will join a small, collaborative sales team where your feedback will be directly related to the advancement of the team, the sales process and the product. You must be a highly motivated, self-directed, driven sales professional with 2 or more years of experience successfully building relationships on the phone with top level executives from call to close. As Complion is pioneering a new product category, this Sales Representative may spend more time in outbound and educational sales initiatives in comparison to a more mature product category.

Complion’s compensation package includes a substantial base salary, uncapped cash commission structure, in addition to incentive stock option compensation. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Reaching the target goal: $500K in first year of employment via sales to $5-50K annual recurring revenue accounts.

Complion’s purpose is to transform the way clinical document and workflows are maintained. Our enterprise SAAS document management platform replaces the 6-10 inch paper regulatory binders that every clinical trial is required to maintain. Our platform not only offers electronic document archiving but provides methods for research coordinators and physicians to collaborate. By eliminating the inefficient paper based processes, researchers can focus on advancements and better patient outcomes. Complion is currently the only product on the market targeted to research sites for e-Regulatory Binders that meets the FDA regulations for CFR 21 Part 11.

As a Platform Software Developer, you will use your development skills to develop applications and systems that will help researchers find the next medical breakthrough and accelerate the growth of Complion. We currently have a repository with terabytes of data and now looking to scale to millions of documents a day while working on cutting edge digital signature approaches. We are looking for a candidate to work closely with the development team and the CTO to establish and implement our software development needs.
This position is open to both mid-level and more experienced applicants. Professional experience and a B.S in Computer Science (or equivalent) are required.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Understanding working with Model view controller (MVC) web frameworks such as Node.js, Rails. Django or like frameworks.
  • JavaScript necessary; experience with React or Knockout.JS is preferred
  • A deep understanding of complex SQL statements
  • MongoDB experience is preferred
  • Ability to learn new technologies, tools and platforms quickly
  • A team players who wants to want the ability to influence building world class technology stacks.
  • Ability to work quickly in a startup environment where balance of speed and quality code is paramount.
